no no no i'm an open book. I'm American, I'm from michigan. I just moved over here to live with my boyfriend (he is English) but in order to move here I had to drop out of school and just pick it back up again when I was ready. I am majoring in Public Relations and there are only like 4 schools in the whole of England that carry it, none of which are anywhere near my boyfriend. Now that I've spent my time with him and I just feel ready to go back to school. I'm leaving here June 15th and starting school at the end of August. And next spring my boyfriend is moving over to the states and we're going to get married. wow, coulda fooled me with all that "I don't understand you Americans" crap. not trying to start a feud here - Madonna! woops, I sneezed, excuse me.

hehe um... I never said I didn't understand Americans... in fact I was arguing with Holly over how similar the two cultures are....
I also said repeatedly that I was American whenever people started trying to be clever saying things like "you're English so you wouldn't understand..." I'd quote the posts for you but unfortunately they've been deleted.
edit: i just remebered a conversation ages ago where I argued about how Americans cockeyness & arrogence were annoying and I still stand by that. I suppose I could see how that would reinforce the idea that I was English....My sister rags on me all the time and says if I come back with a fake English accent like Madonna she'll never speak to me again.

1) I heard a guy on NPR say the reason why so many countries hate America since Bush has taken office is because his administration is more pessimistic than others before. The result is that America loses it's "beacon of hope" appearance, and countries under the thumb of thier government resent the fact that there isn't that greener grass anymore.
2) I just noticed Pink Pants' icon phrase under her flag. Seeing it under her colors makes me think she'd do anything for my pee pee. That touches me deeply... on the pee pee.

1) I'd say that his "regime" if you will, is far too optimistic really. Determined they've won the war in Iraq when soldiers & civillians are dying every day, insisting they can win the war on terror when every day a new American gets ripped to shreds on video tape, or new threats are made about attacks on American soil... and yet they keep on grinning and giving thumbs up. I WISH they were more pessimistic about it all. It would reveal a shred of evidence that Bush actually understands politics at all.
2) Can I please?

1) You're right. Although I'd be hesitant to say that when they champion the US effort overseas they're being optimistic. Yes, optimistic in the sense they say everything is hunky-dorry and we're doing alright (which is sketchy), but just way they present the world... For instance, when Bush talks about the state of the world, he presents it in this very dark, very dangerous manner, expressing a need for it to be tamed. Listening to people in that administration talk, it's like the majority of the world is on the brink of apocalypse. The unilateral foreign policy doesn't help. Too bad Reagan died today. We could use some foreign policy-ing like that now.
2) Yes, but only in Union Jack knickers. And you have to salute it.

2) warren and pink for queen/queen I read that statement twice before it sunk in. I think this is fitting. I myself fear wigs, but I know that Warren loves them.

2) Yes, but only in Union Jack knickers. And you have to salute it. The Prime Minister is horrified.
