I would just like to point out the extreme bias going on right now in the Miss Universe pageant - no I did not sit down to watch it, I was flipping through and came across it. Did anyone else notice that no third-world countries made it to the top 15? It was all USA, Sweden, Switzerland, Mexico, Paraguay, Ecuador, Chile, Costa Rica. Hmm, I see a trend here, North and South America and Europe, all first and second-world economies. Where the hell is Miss Eritrea? Miss Guatemala? how 'bout some shout-outs to the Asians - Miss Laos?? what the fuck? they couldn't squeeze an Asian tiger in there? And if you will also please take notice of the fact that the representatives of the South American countries who were chosen are all exotic-looking but still European - I think it is safe to say that no woman with Native Indian features is going to make it.

ok, so i know this is stupid, but it fuckin bothered me. they did this little segment where they asked the contestants what they thought were the most important issues facing women today, and I wasn't expecting Gandhi-like statements or anything, but I was at least hoping someone would say rape, domestic violence, and lack of protection under the law. come on, someone in that group fuckin went to college, right? well, after everyone agreed on "Respect" as a good general meaningless answer, this one whore pipes up and goes "I know we're like, talking about all of us, but I want to talk about me. I have to be happy with Amelia first." THIRD PERSON!

Don't even get me started on the many grammatical rules that were broken in this sentence. and it is quite ironic that it was said in response to stupid miss Universe contestants. at least they know grammatical rules!!! Kids, you must know this before you graduate high school!!! THEIR is a possessive - meaning, for the idiots, that if something belongs to more than one person, it is THEIRS, as in THEIR HEADS! with an S! if you start with a plural, you must refer to it as a plural throughout the sentence. capiche? THERE refers to a place....Let's go THERE....THERE'S our bus...oh boy, I'm inserting apostrophes, which could lead to more confusion. There's means THERE IS. and the ever-popular THEY'RE....means THEY ARE...as in THEY ARE GOING SOMEWHERE....so THEY'RE going. KNOW THESE! RRRRR!!!! |
