to follow up my previous statement, seems that whenever they need an "ethnic" actor, they call Benjamin Bratt or Benicio del Toro. need a shady Columbian? Native American? Filipino? it used to be LDP that would do all that stuff - drug dealer, proud Indian chief, mysterious Hawaiian surfer, even when he played the King of Thailand. where the hell has he been lately? losing out to the Rock, Jay Hernandez, John Leguizamo and Johnny Depp. Johnny Depp! the man isn't even Latino yet they put a little eyeliner on him and suddenly he's "ethnic".

Where did twitter come from?(2nd and 3rd question marks here.) Post more, girl! We're against guests. Especially in the anonymous thread. <--not a question mark snafu. Ooh, I forgot about that. I was thinking about when he rowed the boat around the stage and when the stairs kept moving upward to imitate ascension. I have an Andrew Lloyd Webber CD with songs from different plays he did, so I was thrilled when they had performers commemorating his work and music onstage one night in the theater on the cruiseship. God bless America they were great. Cheese, my stepmother's favorite play is Fiddler on the Roof. It's on broadway now, but we saw it done last year at a local playhouse. Now I'll try not to brag, but playing the lead role of Tevye was Eddie Mekka...that's right, the Big Ragoo from Laverne and Shirley. Scoop that up with the flat side of a knife and eat it. I'm going with some friends to NYC in a few weeks to do what this very thread suggests. Half of us want to see Rent and the other half wants to see Les Miserables. Has anyone seen the latter? We will probably end up seeing whatever the tix booth in Times Square dictates we will by their quantities. Have you guys ever purchased tickets that way? We saw Titanic when it was on Broadway for $25 a piece. It's the way to go. Especially if you are Warren and you are poor.

I have seen Rent not Les Mis though.
I heard great rewiews from both. Depends on what mood you are in. Rent is more upbeat and gayer than Les Mis.
Everytime I say Les Mis, I think of Mike from the real world. The arrogant punk.
Sunshine, I'll be in NY in a few weeks too. But not NYC, I'll be on LI OMG DOA FDA.

Everytime I say Les Mis, I think of Mike from the real world. The arrogant punk. LOL. you know, I don't find him as annoying as i should. He actually seems like a nice guy. on the other hand, anyone on the Real World sucks. that guy Brad sounds, looks, and acts like he's been hit in the head with a mallet one too many times. He gets the Tony Danza award of the year. I always thought Road Rules kids kicked RW kids asses, cuz all the RW kids do is sit around on their asses and complain about having to actually work, while sitting in their million-dollar free home provided by MTV. Meanwhile, the RR kids are eating bugs and diving off buildings to get paid. speaking of RW, guess what kids, they're movin into my hood, yo! yup, thats right, they are coming to DC, and moving into a giant loft two streets away from me. Man, I can't wait to walk down that already-crowded street and see cameras at every frat-boy watering hole.

That one Frankie girl needs to just go ahead and die. She is this depressed something or other that only seems to do things in the presence of other people or cameras. Thats right, she's an attention whore! She is seen in one scene (ah...) coming back from 'cutting' herself, and she just so happens to drop the cutting utensil on the floor. ATTENTION WHORE! Then, she starts going through this 'I just cannot be happy here!!' Then, why send in your little video essay nonsense and try and be on a TV show if you are unstable and cannot be happy in foreign places? I dont like her one bit. I like Mike.

The Real World is one of those guilty pleasures. I don't like to admit that I watch it, but when I see it on... I watch it. Frankie is a whiny whore who needs to stop smoking black cigarettes with her cystic fibrosis ass.
ANYWHO. I have one more question for you to determine my play decision. I've decided to ask my 12 y/o cousin to go with us. Is Rent ok for her? Or is there some raunchy gay sex I should be aware of?

Or is there some raunchy gay sex I should be aware of? 12 is the age where she might understand the drug/sex part of it and she might be turned into a lesbian when you walk out the door. I think it would be nice to take her, but just make sure there is no 'i don't want my kid exposed to gayness' parent at home. You make Hayley thirsty.

I'm going to see Jekyll and Hyde at a local playhouse at the end of this month. Being a schizophrenic myself, I thought I might identify with the main character. Ha ha I'm not schizo! What?! (Kill your mother.) I've decided to see Les Mis based solely on the following picture from Rent: Now mind you, this is not because of the gayness of the scene, but rather the confusion it might cause my cousin about Santa Clause. Even though she's 12.

This picture is from the first time I went to the opera (2 years ago) at the Met. I saw Der RosenCavalier, which was a german comedy. Some people tend to have bad impressions about the opera, and honestly I usually get into plays more, but I appreciate the opera as well. The sets are amazing, the singing isn't as irritating as you would think it would be, and at the Met they have subtitles right in the seat ahead of you. That's all I have to say about that.

I really want to see Fiddler On The Roof and Chicago. But alas, I haven't seen any real plays in the theater. Poor me. This must be old. LIAR! I really enjoyed "Fiddler on the Roof" on Broadway. Tevye was Alfred Molina or "Doc Oc" if you must. There's a WHOLE BUNCH of them that I'd like to go see. Most of them you've named here.
