I started an english internet course. It's like a forum for losers. I had to write a paper about the ideal family. I wrote this and was physically beaten for it. I figure if one forum gets to beat me, why shouldn't another?
Tell me what you think of me, Los Angeles!
"I think that the traditional idea of an ideal family is realistically improbable. In today’s society, the main function of a family is to prepare its children to be good functional members of society. This implies that a true family has to have children. I believe that every human being has the capacity to only truly have one person’s interests at heart. It is my opinion that the husband/father (or wife/mother) cannot have the interests of themselves, their spouse, and their children completely in their heart. The fact that each member must actively choose between what’s best for themselves and what’s best for everyone else, compromises any sort of ideal. The only way I see for the members of the family to think and act harmoniously, would be for them to adopt a hive mentality, “what’s best for the hive (family) is best for the individual.” I personally feel that the hive mentality is rather disgusting, and is only fitting where it is found, in insects. I guess that the ideal realistic family would be a family with a mother and father, and a few children. The nature of the home would be quite unharmonious; there would have to be a lot of fighting, name-calling, and generally stressful situations. I grew up in an environment like this, and I have always told my friends that their families are a lot more “wholesome” than my family is. However through the disconnect I felt with my family, I was forced to contend, at a young age, with who I really was. My ideal realistic family isn’t the kind where everybody’s happy. I feel everything in life is based in selfishness. I don’t think families should be any different; they are a tool for each individual to leverage in order to improve themselves."
