After nearly three years, I am single.
I'm a lot more lonely than I thought I'd be.

I know you're going to hear a lot of 'well all the girls here want you' and that's probably true. but to make you feel not as alone (or attempt to) I would like to share that I have been single for 19 years. I'm sure you won't have to wait that long.

I remember the first time my boyfriend and I broke up a few years ago, I really thought it was over. Toward the very end I was thinking, yay I can be single and do what I want. But you don't realize how hard it is, that you can't just call them up and bitch about your day cuz you know they love you. The weirdest part was suddenly never having plans. and it is suddenly VERY lonely. you're like, holy shit, where am I? and another weird thing is that when you were in a relationship, there were people you knew you could hook up with if only you were single. Suddenly, when you're single, it seems like you just can't get any. it's like, whoa, I'm not as hot as i thought i was!
anyway, there was no point to that babble, just to say, hang in there buddy. Don't listen to Coldplay or Jeff Buckley. You'll end up crying. I still can't listen to Parachutes ever again because I listened to it when we broke up. Also, sex with the first person after will feel REALLY weird, and also like you're cheating on them, even though you aren't.

I cannot say that I would be much help in this matter having never had a long term relationship and better yet, breaking up from one.
Moral support is what I am noted for unwillingly.
Cry on my shoulder if needed, just make sure that your mascara is water proof.

Stay strong, Cal, for all the "negatives" of being single are truly positives. Be rational. Be Taoist. And read "A Postmortem Guide" by Stephen Dunn. You who are one of them, say that I loved my companions most of all. In all sincerity, say that they provided a better way to be alone. Now that's depressing.

A girl that I know is thinking about breaking up with her boyfriend to get a piece.
Thats 1...2...3...4...5 days, quicker than I thought.
I'm apprehensive to say the least.
Is it too soon?
Will I be nervous?
Would said nervousness affect my performance?
