GA got THEE worst ice storm I have ever seen in all 22 years of my life Friday night. Thursday night it was 70 degrees.
There was literally an inch of solid bricks of ice on everything. My car, the trees, the road, my dog, etc. That night, the supermarkets were swamped with people who were stocking up on 'freeze gear'.
Most of you are northerners and think (like I did) what freeze gear was was some climbing ice picks, a handful of ropes, 15 packets of long johns, steel toe snow boots, a few heavy duty bags of salt, a pair of diamond tipped numchucks, and a bulldozer.
GA FREEZE GEAR:
Bottled water (can't you just melt ice?)
Canned food
Eggs
Milk
Toilet Paper
and a few extra sweaters
I don't understand how these people are the 'outdoorsmans of the world'. They are pansies.
They closed down the major highway running through Atlanta and everyone was falling into ditches on the side roads. Pssssh! IDIOTS!
Luckily it is Georgia, state-of-fucked-up-weather-to-begin-with, and it is starting to melt already. Should be no trace of inclimate weather by 5pm. I hate this place.
Did you know that at the malls, they turn off the automatic hugenormous sliding doors when it gets cold? That wigged me out.
At least we know that their bomb shelter would be stocked up for when the Devil rises and destroys the world. But they are Baptist, so Diablo would over-look their canned peas and Aquafina.
