ok...my friend wanted to dye her hair like avril until i told her it looked like avrils...ya...she wanted proof...so...i looked for websites that had pics of the nasty poser...i found one called punk princess....and i was like whoa there?!?! SHES NOT PUNK! SHES A FUCKIN POSER WHO WISHES SHE WERE PUNK!....ya
do u think avril is a poser or are u one of those stupid people who thinks shes punk?

punk only lives in the underground. there is no popular punk band. Thats why people think punk died. so how could she be punk if she is popular? the most popular punk band i can think of, well they have hiphop roots in it. but the message is there, and that would be Kottonmouth Kings. SO this Avreril is not punk.

I feel ridiculous for even posting this. Punk is one of those things that you automatically sound like an idiot for even talking about it. Its kinda like anarchy.
Anyways, punk is dead; it has been for a very long time. Even if it weren't dead, Avril would not be punk.

punk may seem dead, but it still exsists in the underground. ive heard new punk bands, you see them at undergorund shows or at bars. but, there is no popular punk band, and thats the way it should be. the 80's was a time for punk because it was born late 70's and it needied a time to be popular. not now, and not ever. |

is there a necessity for devoting an entire thread to Avril hatred? are there Avril-lovers in our midst? Avril Lavigne is just like all the other pop stars - the only difference is the way she's marketed. Personally I think Christina Aguilera has the best voice and most talent of any of the current pop stars. Avril is kinda like Pink. Can she dance? no. can she sing? no. does she write her own music or even play an instrument? no. so what does she do? answer: whatever the record label execs want her to. they could easily dress her up like Britney and promote her that way as well. Pink was originally an R&B singer. Label execs need to cover all their bases, so naturally they are going to form ant-Britney pop stars for girls who think they are edgy and alternative, but still mainstream. Avril's just a robot for the music industry, and she'll continue to be until the next one comes along. Undeserving people with no talent become successful all the time. just the way of the world, folks. get used to it.

Pink now writes her own songs. When she went from You Make Me Sick to Family Portrait you can definitely tell. The lyrics kinda suck, by hey- they are her own.

I own Pinks "Cant Take Me Home" album. Hey, I was once 16.
Anyhoo, the whole "controversary" over is or isnt avril considered punk is highly over rated. Avril is a product of pop music. She may wear "punkish" clothes and she may claim to be "non pop/im raw/get out of my face/ i dont take crap from no one" kind of thing. BUt in reality she is pop. Avril is part of a big corperation whos main "talent" is pop based. Avril can not say "im not pop, im different, i am not like britney or christina" because in actuality she is just like them in her career choices and the way she products her music.
Punk is possibly dead.
I still bump my foot to Avril on many occassions. But I dont care what her "label" is...just make my foot bump. Ya hear?
I agree that Christina is a great singer. But, she really needs to take the dick out of her throat and sing how she used to. I can see ad-libing and making some "ooos" and "ahh"s along the way. But if the whole song is "oooo, ahhhh" then no. Shes good though.

Like i said, punk isnt dead, its just underground. it still is out there, but not popular, like it was in the 80's. It will never be popular again, hopefully. but it is still alive. It justy seems dead because it is not something you can hear on the radio. its something you have to see at a show or look up online. |
