Anyhoo, the whole "controversary" over is or isnt avril considered punk is highly over rated. Avril is a product of pop music. She may wear "punkish" clothes and she may claim to be "non pop/im raw/get out of my face/ i dont take crap from no one" kind of thing. BUt in reality she is pop. Avril is part of a big corperation whos main "talent" is pop based. Avril can not say "im not pop, im different, i am not like britney or christina" because in actuality she is just like them in her career choices and the way she products her music. uuuuum yeah I believe I just said that. scroll up.

What the hell? The Kottonmouth Kings are not punk. They're not even underground. They were on Mtv a few years ago with a song of their about "what will life be in the year 2G," or some shit. Dropping into obscurity doesn't mean you're underground. johnny rotten was on our version of "i'm a celebrity- get me of here" punk IS dead. Is this the story of Johnny Rotten?

Like i said, punk isnt dead, its just underground. it still is out there, but not popular, like it was in the 80's. It will never be popular again, hopefully. but it is still alive. It justy seems dead because it is not something you can hear on the radio. its something you have to see at a show or look up online. Thank you, ruler of all that is punk. So when were you born? 1987? yeah thanks. Im joshing with ya , Pete. Go buy me some pop. (im not kidding)

Sigh...I have to explain this shit yet again.
"Punk" was a political/musical movement that existed in England during the 1970s. Anything since, even what Pete is calling "underground," is an immitation. Whether it is good music or not is irrelevant; it's not punk. When you take it out of it's original social context (England ruled by a monarch) it lacks meaning.
Punk is dead. It makes my nipples hard that Pink Pants is also aware of this.
I personally would love to know what Johnny Rotten thinks of Blink 182. I'd love to here him say, "They're bloody horrible, mate."

Dropping into obscurity doesn't mean you're underground. Peace Not Greed. but anyways, Mtv and all the other music channels banned their videos, because they only talk about anarchy and getting high and legalizing it. But they are a mix, they do some punk sounds becasue they have the ture punk lyrics. anarchy IS punk. but they are still underground. they are popular, but not big enough to win an award or be on the radio. but, in order to be punk rock, you must be all about anarchy and freedom,

Well said. Human nature makes anarchy impossible.
