i know, i was just too lazy to copy Julies post. so i copied yours. and i also cant stand when Mandah does that. that is why i stopped responding to her pointless back and fourth posts. i noticed taht on the Board Warning thread. i was hoping it would not have been touched, since it is just to warn kids liek Clover who are 13 and under. they must inform a parent before joining, or reading a post. its the rules.

I mocked no one! I was simply trying to get across the point that other people do it and I never say anything promoting or rejecting it, and I say something to the new kid and I am told to 'AIM ' I dont care if people do it, I just scroll past the bullshit to where there is something to read again. I wouldnt ever call anyone out on it. And here I have been called out on it twice and I dont think I am a person who consistently goes front and third.

First of all, fuck the report card thing. Your dad must be back in the 1950s, cuz if you did that you'd get laughed at, plain and simple. Second, since you're 17 you shouldn't have to make a cover letter or write a resume. thats fucking retarded. Third, the easiest way to get a job at 17 is think of places you'd like to work at, then go in there and ask if they're hiring. that's how i got every job in retail that i had. and look the part if you want to work there. say you wanna work at the Gap - you should probably own some Gap clothes. You can't just go in and say "I need a job." You have to be presentable and say, "I was wondering if you were hiring for _____." Your best bet for school money is probably waiting tables. A lot of chain restaurants will take you without any experience. If you don't wanna do that, apply at places where you shop. Or, for the summer, you could paint houses. And there is ALWAYS stripping (which can be easily hidden from parents) once you go off to college - you make money giving lapdances to old horny women, and chances are you'll meet some hot guys, cuz male strippers are gay.

If you still dont find anything, ask your friends' parents if they need an apprentice or worker for the summer, doign office work, landscaping, whatever. Landscapers usually take 17 year olds. Anyway, fuck the resume thing. You're 17, you should be working outside or someplace fun, not filing in an office. Unfortunately, you have the rest of your life to do that.

yeah I definitely agree with that. I think the cover letter and report card thing is retarded. And my dad doesn't even have a job. I think that immediately disqualifies him for giving me advice. But yeah, I've tried wearing nice appropriate clothing....not a lot of places are hiring around here now. Thanks for the advice though
