"irk" i spelled that wrong! LOL.. but i was just trying to give you a reason for why he might have been "irked" you never should have to defend yourself... once again opinions.. but you did ask... so... cool. done. I did not ask for an opinion on how I write things and who's bothered by it. I also, did not defend myself, I educated and made that clear because obviously, some people thought that i did not believe in G-d because of the way I wrote it, so I set the record straight. Sonshine, I respect your thread and will not make an issuse out of it. Clearly, I needed to get my point across and it was done. Done? Done. um, ok...yeah...so....cool.

I dont see where it even matters...
why must I be raped, eh? I have no control over the outcome of my rape. I should only be raped if I am doing something and can take preventative measures against the rape. I just said 'rape' four times, in hopes the desperation in my voice would be heard. In honor of the POETRY thread, I found this poem:
I do not fancy a rape. In fact, I’d rather eat a grape. Grapes are good and rapes are bad Unless the rape is from my dad. To avoid rape, I wear plaid pants Plaid makes boys not want to dance And by ‘dance’ I mean ‘rape.’<br>

I have to say thank you to Mr Nondylan for turning me on to Tony Hoagland's poetry. I mean literally turning me on. Check out this James Taylor lookalike: and Fire and rain, baby. This quote from one of Hoagland's poems, "Jet," really struck me as profound: ..."We would give anything for what we have." From "How it adds up:" "Happiness, Joe says, is a wild red flower Plucked from a river of lava And held aloft on a tightrope Strung between two scrawny trees Above a canyon in a manic-depressive windstorm. Don’t drop it, don’t drop it, don’t drop it, And when you do, you will keep looking for it Everywhere, for years, While right behind you, The footprints you are leaving Will look like notes of a crazy song."

Damnit. The reason why it bothered me is not because of a religious reason. It reminds me of people typing "f$#!" and "n-word" instead of "fuck" and "nigger." I was also pretty much just fucking around, so there was no reason for a mini debate.
Sunshine, Keats' "Ode to a Nightingale" is my favorite poem ever.

The Mask Of Death
Somethings growing inside you Hard to tell what it is Shows no face or sign Its hidden behind the mask of death Body breaking down, only your soul left Our vessel to life corroding ino dust Hidden behind the mask of death Shortened life from illness inside you Soul to save, only one chance to try to Mood changes the person you once knew Its hidden behind the mask of death Will the light come from above? Only time will tell Pray in the morning, curse in the evening Our lifestyle never seemed so receiving Its hidden behind the mask of death The bright side will show face Even if our bodies are dead and our souls safe No more hidding No more anger No more mask

Inside
No one else knows that smile like I do. You saved it all your life for me, I think. It was buried for years Underneath layers of disappointment and doors of high expectations. I came and kicked off my shoes in your soul and found home in the crook of your neck. You just looked at me When the sun was bouncing off my hair and we danced with Dave Matthews in our heads For that moment everything was ok. "Where are you going?..." Walking away from you Just to hear you call out my name. You told me my slightly crooked smile was sexy That said a lot. There are other, better compliments, you say but not to me that day. I know I'm not the only one Inside this moment Before obligatory roses and whitewashed "yes, dears." But I put a name to it and called it my own.

Tony Hoagland is a G-d! (See how I did that? See how I turned the tables on a volitile situation and made it into 4 lbs. of funny? Class dismissed, bitches!) But yeah, Hoagland, the man. What's that? Post links to other kick ass poets? Okay!Bob Hicok: jacketmagazine.com/19/hic1.htmlJim Daniels: www.poems.com/youbrdan.htm... and I was going to put Toi Derricotte up here, but I couldn't find any of her poems online. And we can't forget the hometown boy, Kevin Stein: www.wiu.edu/foliopress/illinois/poetstein.htmNow let's write some poetry!

Untitled
So you told her that you loved her Well does she love you back? You told her that you wanted life to be with her But she doesnt seem to care about how she acts Settling for a feeling you yern for Will only break you down in the end When you find out that she never loved you But only wanted to wed
Years of your life wasted for a false hope at love Did you find the right girl The girl you want to love? And if you did how do you know its true? Because she says so? But then tells you what to do
Wait for the one to come your way Sit home, live life, and pray You dont need this and she doesnt derserve you So tell her how you really feel Say goodbye and see it through

Bob Hicok is one of the few contemporary poets that I like. I'm going to post my favorite poem of his, because Warren will have sex with me afterwards.
Literary Theory
When Billy said writing is like sex I thought I've been using
the wrong pencil or having wrong sex so I had
some sex to see if a carriage return or ellipses
had secretly been involved. Would the touching
of my wife's thigh for instance as a prelude to the touching
of her knee be improved if I kissed her allegorically or let
my meaning during intercourse remain implied?
At my desk and asking the Japanese maple outside the window
to be a metaphor for the sugar maple inside my head, I've
never found myself panting or pressing the O key as often
as I breathe it in bed I prefer generally things
that are like themselves. Eating resembles nothing
so much as absorbing food. Writing is most like what I'm doing
now. Sex is finding the best words for the mouths of my hands.
