A day removed from writing those quotes, and they're still golden.
I bought two (2) compact discs from the local Circuit City.
1.) Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand
2.) Wilco - a ghost is born
Wilco is what one calls a "no brainer." I'm actually listening to it as I type. It a boner donor.
Should I have bought the Franz CD? Maybe, maybe not. I did. We'll see how it goes. I compare this buy to a highly touted first round draft pick who's supposed to do great things and either does so or flounders in his first year of pro ball and then drifts into obscurity.
You don't think about music this way?

Thanks Warren. Because of this there are ads for the Franz Ferdinand hotel in France. Something I never knew existed.
I love obscure historic references. But I have the feeling that if a 14 year-old picked up that album, he wouldn't have a clue who the hell that was.

UPDATE!! (the best part of Unsolved Mysteries)
Both Franz Ferdinand and a ghost is born are CHAMPIONS. Wilco rocks and/or rolls, there's no preguntas.
Also, Stephen Stills is certifiably god-like. Buy everything he touches.

"Hey, the combination to my locker, forget about it. And if I catch you around my locker I'm gonna karate chop you in the head, okay?"
"If you make me look good, I'll be your best friend, but if you make me look bad, I'll never talk to you again."
Sorry, I'm late to the gate with the quotes. Don't hate the late gater.

I don't know if he says that second quote right after this, but I remember that scene as:
"If you make me look bad, I'll fucking blow your head off, but if you make me look good, I'll let you be my best friend."

I heard the song "Dude" today, I don't know, maybe b/c it was the thousandth time they played it, and heard the lyric "I want a dude who'll do me in a van..."
I don't know where you're going to find that type of man, singer of crappy songs. Good luck. I mean, just what kind of high standards is she setting here? I'll do you in the street, in a car, but in a van? No.

Is anybody here familiar with The Sea and Cake? I've recently acquired their album The Biz. It is definitely the sea and cake.
Two, I say the greatest album name in the history of world is Damien Jurado's "I Break Chairs."

In an ironic twist, I will be seeing Bob Dylan in concert at the end of the month.
So, I am him now.

Garth Hudson turned 67 on August 2nd. Happy Garth Hudson's 67th Birthday, NonDylan. Garth is the man. He made the other members of The Band pay him for music lessons. Let's see Pudddddle of Mudddd do that!

Speaking of The Band, after recently viewing The Last Waltz, these are my comments: 1. I can see why Caravan is a favorite of yours now, Warren. 2. Blockbuster does not carry the version of the DVD that includes VanMorrison and Dylan's duet of Crazy Love. 3. Blockbuster's_mods_sux. 4. Up On Cripple Creek has been stuck in my head for days. 5. Yup. I still don't like Neil Diamond or Joni Mitchell. 6. Forever Young was great and proves to me that Dylan is the only one who can get away with wearing a pink feathered hat on stage.
